PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION IS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF STRUCTURAL FIRE PROTECTION IN A BUILDING, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO CONTAIN FIRES OR SLOW THEIR SPREAD.OF HEAT EXPOSURE, THUS INCREASING IN VOLUME AND DECREASING IN DENSITY.

FIRE BOARDING IS THE PRACTICE OF USING FIRE-RESISTANT BOARDS FOR STRUCTURAL STEEL ENCASEMENT THAT HAVE BEEN TREATED WITH NON-TOXIC ADDITIVES TO PROTECT THEM FROM FIRE.
SFS Fire Protection Scotland has extensive experience in boarded fire protection systems and fire wall partitions, having installed them in some of the largest shopping centres, retail parks, distilleries, and bonded warehouses.
Boarded fire protection offers fire protection up to 4 hours and is often viewed as a more robust and trusted solution over intumescent paint, as incorrect installation is far easier to see.
We carry out full metal stud and shaftwall fire wall partitions using British Gypsum and other leading manufacturer systems subdividing and forming fire compartments within retail parks and warehouses.
We use all the main board systems from Rockwool Beamclad mineral fibre board which is cheapest but non aesthetic to BG Glasroc and Vermiculux/ Supalux which offer rigid, robust and aesthetically tidy fire protection.
THEY ARE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO PROVIDE CAVITY FIRE PROTECTION.
Creating resistance to fire spreading in spaces like ceilings and roof voids, and come in a range of options, both flexible and rigid for the right fitting protection within your building.
Our fire barrier systems are a solution to internal horizontal voids around building perimeters between floor slabs and the building envelope. In the event of fire, cavity barriers will expand and seal the void to slow the burn and extend time, offering invaluable and life-saving solutions.
BUILDING AIRTIGHTNESS OR ‘ENVELOPE AIRTIGHTNESS’ CAN BE DEFINED AS THE RESISTANCE TO INWARD OR OUTWARD AIR LEAKAGE THROUGH UNINTENTIONAL LEAKAGE POINTS OR AREAS IN A BUILDING.
These ‘leakages’ can be caused by internal ventilation systems, wind or general air movement creating changes in pressure which may ultimately create increased levels of energy consumption, drafting effects and potential moisture extremes such as condensation.
